Hi Having recently had to add a larger binding channel due to a router accident i am now going to add purfling under the binding on the sides This will mean the purfling will have to be curved sideways I was wondering whether it will bend ok on an iron sideways without unglueing the 2 parts of the binding or should it be done separately ..is a steamer better for this? (Its wood purfling by the way) And any other tips please on making this a stress free process Thankyou |

if you're using wooden binding, glue the binding to the purfling first, then bend the glued binding/purfling combination as if you were bending just the binding.. |

What kind of glue do you use to glue the purfling to the binding? I am thinking of doing this on an upcoming build but was afraid the purfling would come unglued during the bending process. |

I have been reconsidering this approach, mainly because of tight bends. But, I'll admit I don't have any good ideas. Too many times I've had bad luck in the tight turn areas. So, if there are other ideas, I'm listening. |
